The Roar have quietly become one of the form teams of the A-League. They have lost just one of their last eight – a 1-0 defeat away to Sydney FC. Since then, they have accounted for Adelaide at home (2-1) and Western United away (1-0). The latter result put the sixth-placed outfit six points clear of the chasing pack.
On a nine-match unbeaten run, the Glory look good for a top-two finish. After back-to-back draws with the two Melbourne teams, Perth swamped Wellington 4-2 in Week 18 with Nicholas D’Agostino scoring twice. But the Glory could be travel-weary from their 1-0 Champions League loss away to FC Tokyo on Tuesday night.
Perth won all three games between the clubs last season by a combined 10-3. But Brisbane won a home exhibition game in August 1-0, before jagging a 1-all draw in Perth in the opening round of the A-League campaign.
The Roar are great value as $3.20 outsiders at home – going 4-1-1 from the last six in Queensland – given the Glory’s ACL commitments.
