PointsBet.com Review
PointsBet are unique as they’re the first Australian online bookmaker to offer spread betting.
Spread betting is unlike any other form of online betting in this country as you’re not betting on odds so to speak.
We’ll continue to explain how spread betting works below and give you a full in-depth review as to what we like and what we think could improve on PointsBet.com
How does Spread Betting work?
If you’ve never heard of spread betting before than you may want to pay attention. It’s unlike your typical fixed odds betting and it’s a great way to keep you on the edge of your seat for the entire length of the market you’re betting on.
The first thing you need to understand is that it’s completely different to fixed odds betting. Your potential winnings aren’t fixed and the same goes for your potential losses.
In fact your profit or loss margin is variable right up until the final moment of the game. This means the more you’re right, the more you can win. But the more you’re wrong, the more you can lose.
Let’s say you’re betting on an AFL game between Essendon and Collingwood. The Essendon line is set at -12. As an example we’ll say you place a $1 bet on this market and set the max win level to x75. If Essendon win by 27 points, you’ll win $10. If Essendon only wun by 10 points, you’ll lose $6.
It means you’ll be cheering Essendon on to win by at least 17 points and for every point they win by over 17, your profits increase!
PointsBet.com Overview
PointsBet are definitely unique and we love the way they’ve gone about it. It’s a new style of betting in this country and they’re doing a great job to make it as easy as possible for punters to understand.
Their website is easy to navigate and makes betting a breeze. The colour scheme isn’t everyone cup of tea but we don’t mind it personally.
It’s important to make sure you know the risks involved in spread betting as it can be more risky than your fixed odds betting.
Overall we love the fact they’ve introduced spread betting to Australia.
