It’s the second Grand Final rematch of the season and if recent encounters are any indicator, it will be another close one. That’s the way the market sees it as well, with both teams opening at $1.88. When they last met in round 6, the Roosters won by a point in golden point thanks to a Latrell Mitchell field goal. The Roosters led 20-0 after half an hour in that one before Melbourne stormed back to tie the game. A field goal has been kicked in the last five games between the two teams, including in the past two games at Adelaide Oval.
James Tedesco was rested last time out against the Dogs but is named at full back. Joseph Manu goes back to the centres and Mitch Aubusson shifts to the bench to complete the reshuffle. The league leading Storm have won five in a row and kept the same lineup that toppled the Knights in round 14. All of their Origin and international players are named to play.
The Wolf sees little to separate these two great teams. The Roosters have had the wood on Melbourne in the past couple of meetings, but the Storm might be catching the Chooks at a good time, particularly with regards to the Origin game just gone. Their two prior meetings in Adelaide were split each way and in a coin flip, it’s the more consistent and defensively stronger Storm who will take the chocolates.
