Adelaide’s favourable trip to Perth loomed large on the calendar over the last few weeks, but some of the shine has been taken off this game with the Crows ruled out of finals contention due to a controversial loss to Sydney.

Credit to Matthew Nicks’ side, they handled the infamous ‘no goal’ as well as they could, but it has to be said that the Crows were their own worst enemy, falling behind by three goals early in the first term.

While this is still a very winnable game, the Eagles will have their tails up following a mammoth upset over the Western Bulldogs last week.

Jamie Cripps rewound the clock with a five-goal haul, and there is still plenty to play for in terms of not only the wooden spoon, but also sending club legends Luke Shuey, Shannon Hurn – and maybe Adam Simpson – into the sunset in appropriate fashion.

The Crows have also made a bad habit of losing games on the road, while it’s worth noting the underdog has covered in their last six night games.

Backing West Coast outright is tough, but the line is enticing on the back of last week’s results.
