The travel-shy Lions return to the site of their worst defeat of the season a fortnight ago to play the Saints at Marvel Stadium on Saturday afternoon. A 15-point loss to Carlton last time out was a horrow show for Chris Fagan’s Lions, who led by six goals in the in the second term before losing to the bottom placed Blues.
They will look to bounce back against the Saints, who picked up a much needed win after a poor six weeks. At 6-6, the Saints are just a game outside the top eight, but their poor percentage will count against them late in the season. Brisbane has been poor on the road all season, winning just twice away from the Gabba, and one of those win’s was against the 17th placed Suns.
Gun Oscar McInerney is set to return after two games out in a boost for the Lions, while new recruit Dan Hannebery should be good to go on Saturday. The Saints are 4-1 in their last five games against the Lions and have not lost to Brisbane at Marvel Stadium since round 6, 2000. The Wolf can’t trust Brisbane on the road, let alone as favourites given their dismal record at Docklands against St Kilda.
