Port Adelaide Power get a gift-wrapped opportunity to bounce back from a round 12 defeat when they host foundering Hawthorn Hawks.

On Friday night, the ladder-leading Power slumped to their worst loss of a tremendous 2020 campaign to date when they were thrashed by 60 points by Geelong. It was a swift comedown from the previous week’s high-quality victory over defending premiers Richmond and raised serious questions about Port’s defence.

The Hawks, though, are limping towards the end of what is shaping as their worst season in 15 years. The fallen heavyweights have won just one of their last seven and were never in the hunt against the Eagles on Sunday, losing by 32 points after kicking just two first-half goals.

The club has also been rocked by news that James Sicily could miss 12 months after rupturing his ACL.

The Hawks have won nine of their last 13 against the Power, including a 31-point victory in the teams’ sole 2019 clash.

Last week was a sizeable misstep for the flag-chasing Power. But they have consistently put the hurt on the competition’s lesser teams this season and  AFL round 13 tips and odds are pointing towards a swift turnaround.
