Preview:
At 6-6, are the Power contenders or pretenders? With just one win against top eight opposition, their metal will be tested on Saturday night when they host the competition leading 11-1 Cats at Adelaide Oval. A last quarter collapse against the Dockers dealt Port another loss this season and to make matters worse, they didn’t trouble the scorers in the final term.
The Cats enjoyed a bye in round 13, but in round 12 crushed the Tigers by 67 points in a dominant performance. They have been money against the handicap this season at 8-4, while the Power are a dismal 4-8. Adelaide Oval is not the Cats’ happiest of hunting grounds, with a 5-4 record all time, but they have won their past three matches against the Power at the ground.
The Wolf thinks the Cats are too good to pass up as less than three goal favourites against a side that hasn’t made much of a mark this season. Geelong has covered this handicap against Port in its past three games at Adelaide Oval dating back to 2015 and will be well rested and primed for another big win.
