There’s no doubt the Dees are a class above the rest of the competition right now, and as the line suggests, they’ll have another opportunity to make a bold statement on Saturday night at home against the Giants.
Simon Goodwin’s side made short work of Port Adelaide last week, holding the Power goal-less in the first half on their way to a comfortable 32-point win.
GWS, meanwhile, would probably like to have last week’s game against Fremantle back.
The Giants trailed by only two points at three-quarter time but struggled to find the sticks in a goal-less final term.
Superstar forward Toby Greene is still a week away from returning from suspension, meaning the Giants will have to be at their very best against a Melbourne outfit that has basically been cruising in fourth gear.
This is also somewhat of a revenge game for the Dees after losing to GWS last July.
Perhaps the one knock on Melbourne so far has been that they haven’t really put any of their opponents away by massive margins, but with home-field advantage and a few key players set to return from injury, this might be the game where the Dees really flex their muscle.
