It’s only early days, but this one could go a long way to determining the wooden spoon.

The Suns head back to the Gold Coast after what was a decent effort last week against West Coast in Perth, while the Kangas are hoping to forget all about their blowout loss to Port Adelaide.

After suffering what appeared to be a season-ending knee injury, Rising Star favourite Matt Rowell looks to have sustained only minimal damage – although he does look set to miss an “extended period of time”, according to the club.

Fortunately, the Suns have plenty of other key playmakers to rely on.

Ben King booted three last week against West Coast, and there was a lot to like about Jack Bowes in defence.

North, meanwhile, had to be encouraged by what they saw from new recruit Jaidyn Stephenson, and they should fancy themselves on Saturday after winning their third straight game over the Suns by 63 points last year at Metricon.

Really, there isn’t as much separating these two side as the current market suggests.

After playing eight games on the Gold Coast last year, North keeping this game close looks a good bet.
