It would be an understatement to say these are troubling times at Princes Park.

The Blues officially hit rock bottom on Sunday, losing to the Bombers in another farcical performance that has left supporters fed up.

Carlton’s lack of structure moving the ball forward has been at the forefront of this utterly disappointing season, the Blues failing to find run through the middle and lacking any discipline by foot.

Having failed to score more than 60 points in their last five games, Sunday’s matchup has danger written all over it against the Gold Coast Suns.

Stuart Dew’s side still has plenty left to improve on, but the Suns have enjoyed a very strong six weeks of footy, winning four games during that span – two over genuine finals contenders in the Dogs and Adelaide.

To make matters worse, the Suns are coming off a bye refreshed following a two-week stint in Darwin.

The makeup of the eight has left the door wide-open for Gold Coast to earn its first finals berth, and based on the fact they rank second in clearances and kicks per-game, there should be plenty of scoring opportunities against this turnover-prone Carlton team.
