Fresh from the bye and a stint in quarantine, Port Adelaide hosts Geelong at Adelaide Oval this Thursday night.

The Power can put themselves back in the top four if they are able to get the job done against the Cats, a team many suspect they will have to play again in September.

Geelong will enter South Australia under some extreme restrictions and it is unknown if the Chief Health Officer will permit the crowd to touch the ball this week.

Prior to their weekend off, the Cats have won their past four games, however history has shown Geelong are cursed after returning from a spell.

The Power have won their past two games, and while some have questioned their top-four credentials, Ken Hinkley’s men just keep chalking up the wins, and they will have home ground advantage on their side.

Port will have the home ground advantage on their side just to make things that little bit tougher for the Cats as well..

When these two sides met in last year’s Qualifying Final, Port got the job done by 16-points in a low-scoring, high-pressure encounter – very much the under.

The over/under line for this match has been set at 158.5, and I’d expect it to go slightly over factoring longer quarters and the Power’s ability to get big scores, despite the Cats wanting to slow it down.

I’ll take the Power at the line as you just do not take Geelong after a bye as well as the over in this one.
